Where do you go to buy local foods besides the farmer’s market?? Do we have any stores in lincoln like “whole foods” or some organic food market stores or just local produce stores?? I typically get my groceries at hyvee and they have an alright health market but I’m looking for a whole store like hyvee’s health market. Any help??

Joe,
Thanks for your post! This is an area of emphasis for the NLFN as we are trying to move forward in the local foods initiative. We are aware of the consumer’s desire to find more local foods in grocery stores. There are a few around town that are currently carrying local foods: Hy-Vee, Supersaver, Russes, Leon’s Food Mart (2200 Winthrop Rd), Open Harvest (17th and South), and Wal-Mart (I apologize if I missed one). Eventually, we would like to compile a list of these stores and even restaurants that are serving local. Thanks again for your post!
